Healing Ourselves . . . Healing Our World
Presentation by John Robbins, author of Diet for a New America, which explains how the typical meat-based diet affects our personal health and stresses the environment. Ann Arbor Earth Day Festival, All Species Parade, Tours
Huge family event with educational displays, kids' programs, booths, other activities. Sponsored by the Ecology Center, Project Grown, and the Leslie Science Center. Leslie Science Center, 1831 Traver Road, Ann Arbor. (Park at EPA office, 2565 Plymouth Road, and take shuttle bus to festival.) 1pm - 5pm. (734) 662-7802. All Species Parade with participants dressed and decorated as wildlife and other creatures. Parade departs at 1:15 from Plymouth Park and enters Earth Day Festival at 2pm. EcoRide 2000!!
The Ecology Center's 29th annual bike-a-thon fundraiser. Three great scenic routes (10-, 26-, and 55-mile) along the Huron River, and a 2-mile neighborhood loop, which is great for families with younger children.
