Working with the Ecology Center in the campaign to Stop Global Warming are the other international Aveda Earth Month Partners:

Clean Air-Cool Planet works with businesses, campuses and communities, throughout the Northeast to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and implement practical solutions to climate change. Based in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, they work in New England, New York and New Jersey. Their programs aim to engage individuals and institutions in taking action to help prevent global warming.

Coalition for Clean Air is working in California to reduce air pollution and protect public health through advocating for responsible public health policy; providing technical and educational expertise and promoting broad-based community involvement. They have recently published reports on dirty diesel school buses and toxics in dry cleaning and have sponsored legislation on global warming and increasing the use of renewable energy.

Green House Network, based in Oregon is committed to building the grassroots movement needed to stop global warming. Its mission is to educate and unite businesses, government, students, civic organizations, community leaders and citizens in the effort to stablize the climate.

ME3: Midwest Green Energy is leading the transition to a clean energy future in the Midwest. Their programs encourage behavior and policy changes that support clean technologies and the efficient use of our energy resources. ME3 acts to empower citizens to influence decisions on energy and the environment.

Southern Alliance for Clean Energy (SACE) proposes environmentally, economically sound energy reforms in the Southeast. SACE seeks positive solutions to the negative impacts of power production by promoting clean air policies, renewable energy, and the implementation of energy efficient practices through citizen participation.

The Midwest Renewable Energy Association (MREA) is a progressive nonprofit organization dedicated to creating a sustainable future based on renewable energy. Since 1990 they have been helping individuals and businesses establish locally owned, earth friendly, photovoltaic and wind energy systems across the country. Their activities include workshops, hands on training activities, and the Renewable Energy and Sustainably Living Fair.

Australia: Australian Conservation Foundation (ACF) works towards a society that protects, sustains and restores the environment. ACF will provide Australians with reliable information about global warming and how individuals can make a difference in their home and community. Web:

Benelux: North Sea Foundation (Stichting De Noordzee) works as an advocate for the health and beauty of the North sea. The Foundation promotes solutions to global warming, prevention of toxins and sustainable use of the sea. They focus on the careful implementation of offshore wind turbines, clean shipping and sustainable fishing.

Canada: Environmental Defence Canada provides the knowledge and tools necessary to protect environment and health. They work with local community groups throughout Canada to encourage the purchase of cleaner, more fuel-efficient cars; ask governments to promote alternatives to coal-based energy; and work to slow urban sprawl while preserving habitats.

Germany: BUND (Bund für Umwelt und Naturschutz Deutschland e.V.) is an association for the protection of the environment and nature in Germany. Founded in 1975, it now has nearly 229,000 members. The money from Aveda will go toward BUND’s "Zukunftswald" ("Future Forest") project planting trees all over Germany.

Hong Kong: Green Power is dedicated to promoting community-based environmental education and raising public awareness of local environmental issues. Green Power helped establish the Chinese White Dolphin Resource Center and the Green Field Ecological Education Centre.

Iceland: Reykjavík Forestry Association is a nonprofit voluntary association that has been fighting wind erosion from the heaths around the capital city after centuries of deforestation. The organization has, in liaison with city authorities and support from sponsors, planted 10 million trees in 30 years in the highlands around the city. This is just the beginning of a project to shelter the whole capital area with " The Green Scarf."

Korea: Green Korea United is a civic organization working to protect ecosystems and promote public awareness in order to harmonize people with nature. Green Korea United works to halt destructive development projects on the Korean peninsula.

Taiwan - KTA Environment Education Center is a group of teachers dedicated to educating students to care for the environment with practical actions. They have worked to protect cypress forests, found national parks and raise awareness about industrial pollution.

UK: Plantlife is the U.K.'s only charity dedicated to conserving plant life in its natural habitat. They carry out practical conservation to protect the U.K.'s most endangered species, habitats and areas of botanical importance; purchase and manage Nature Reserves; and work to increase public understanding of our wild plant heritage.
