Coastal Land Use Survey and Forum

Lake Erie and Mouth of the Detroit River

The River Raisin Institute, Ecology Center and UAW Region 1A Toxic Waste Squad, with support from the Michigan Environmental Council, are interested in knowing your opinion on coastal land use concerns. Local coastal areas, like others throughout the state and nation, are an increasingly attractive place for residents and visitors alike; and as such, they are in particular danger from over-development and pollution. Population growth in coastal areas tends to be higher than in inland areas. Simply put, more people want to live near the water, which fragments unique coastal habitats such as wetlands.

Please take a moment to fill out the survey below. Survey results will be used along with results of the discussion at the community forum to create possible solutions on a local and statewide basis.
