Recycling Facility Open House: America Recycles Day

Saturday, November 14, 2015 - 10:00am to 12:00pm

Celebrate America Recycles Day with us! We will be creating bird feeders from old recycled material and learning about how we can recycle more, beyond the curbside bin. Information will be provided on how to get rid of those lesser-known recyclables. In addition to increasing our recycling at home, visitors will have the opportunity to tour the Materials Recovery Facility Floor and see just where their curbside recyclables go.

Visitors are asked to bring their own, clean plastic bottle.

Groups of 5+ are asked to preregister by emailing mrftours@ecocenter.org  or calling 734.369.9277.

Long pants and close-toed shoes are required to tour the facility. Visitors under the age of 6 are not permitted on the floor tour portion of the open house, but are encouraged to join us and participate in additional age-appropriate activities.

For more information, or to see the full schedule of Open House events visit: http://www.ecocenter.org/education/mrf/openhouse, or contact environmental educator, MacKenzie Maxwell, at 734.369.9277.
