Recycle Ann Arbor expands summer hours at Drop-Off Station

Now open on Mondays

Since earlier this month, Recycle Ann Arbor’s Drop-Off Station has expanded its hours to include Mondays from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. As usual, the Drop-Off Station also will be open its regular hours, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m, and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

“This additional operation day will go through Monday, Aug. 25 to better accommodate our customers this summer,” according to Christine Chessler-Stull, outreach and zero-waste coordinator at Recycle Ann Arbor. RAA is a subsidiary of the Ecology Center.

“We work continually increase customer satisfaction and we take customer feedback seriously,” Chessler-Stull said. “During recent on-site surveys, customers specified that Monday was the preferred additional day they would like to see the Drop-Off Station open.”

The Drop-Off Station is Washtenaw County’s most comprehensive recycling drop-off center, open to the general public.  The Drop-Off Station accepts regular recyclable items, as well as a wide variety of harder-to-recycle items including computers, televisions, freon appliances and tires.

The Drop-Off Station also is recruiting volunteers. “We could use help on any Saturday throughout the month of June,” Chessler Stull says. “And  we can always use a few helpful hands during any of our open weekdays.”
