The Ecology Center GEE WOW: Adventures in Water curriculum, first developed in 1990, is now in its fourth edition and for the first time ever, available for free downloading in a digital format.
"This curriculum contains activities for children kindergarten
through sixth grade," according to Lauren LaRocca, environmental educator at the Ecology Center. "The 27 lessons and activities in the curriculum will help students and their teachers learn about the water
cycle, water distribution, groundwater, and ways to protect
our waters.
Environmental education is one of the longest-standing programs of the Ecology Center. Over several decades, the program has raised environmental awareness among thousands of students in local and regional schools with a solid curriculum and hands-on learning opportunities.
"We believe that environmental awareness and caring for the natural world should be crucial components of youth education," LaRocca says. "We hope to make a difference by improving the environment one child at a time."
