2003 Earth Day Festival at Ann Arbor Farmer's Market

After ten years, Ann Arbor’s Earth Day Festival is moving to the Ann Arbor Farmers Market in the Kerrytown District on Sunday, April 27 from 1:00-5:00 p.m. The public is invited to celebrate the urban environment with free entertainment, displays and hands-on activities for all ages. Over 100 exhibit areas will feature nonprofit environmental organizations, area artisans and vendors of Earth-friendly products.

Throughout the afternoon there will be entertainment inside The Kerrytown Shops Building. Activity tables with be intermingled with the Artisan Market outside. Additional highlights will include story-telling, sing-alongs, bubble-making with Ron the Bubbleman and face painting. At 2 p.m. the All Species Parade will wind through the market with costumed individuals representing various animals, plants and other species. Interested parade participants should meet at the Sculpture Plaza at the corner of Catherine and 4th Avenue.

Earth Day admission is FREE due to generous grants from the DTE Energy Foundation and the Kerrytown District Association. EENOW (Environmental Education Network of Washtenaw) hosts the festival. The annual Earth Day Festival is an event for youth and their families to have fun while discovering new ways to make Earth Day every day. Come celebrate with us!

Ride your bike or take the bus to the Earth Day Festival at the Farmers Market and receive a free gift. The Farmers Market is located at 315 Detroit St. in Ann Arbor.
