2004 EARTH DAY FESTIVAL
AT THE ANN ARBOR'S FARMERS MARKET

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE, March 4, 2004

For the second year Ann Arbor's Earth Day Festival is at the Ann Arbor’s Farmers Market in the Kerrytown District on Sunday, April 25 from 12:00 - 4:00 pm. The public is invited to celebrate the urban environment with free entertainment, live animal demonstrations, displays and hands-on activities for all ages. Around 100 exhibit areas will feature non-profit environmental organizations, area artisans and vendors of Earth-friendly products.

Throughout the afternoon earth centered entertainment is the core. Activity tables will be intermingled with the Artisan Market outside. Additional highlights will include live animal demonstrations, story-telling, live music, bubble-making with the Bubbleman and face painting. At 2 pm an All Species Parade will wind through the market with costumed individuals representing various animals, plants and other species. Interested parade participants should meet at the Sculpture Plaza at the corner of Catherine and 4th Ave. Costumes are encouraged and free face painting will be available.

Earth Day admission is FREE due to the generous grants from Secure EcoShred and Pfizer. EENOW (Environmental Education Network of Washtenaw) hosts the festival. Free parking is also available throughout the downtown area on Sundays. The Annual Earth Day Festival is an event for youth and their families to have fun while discovering new ways to make Earth Day every day. Come celebrate with us!
