Groups Join for Beer and Bucks

Ecology Center and Clean Water Action Team Up
in Ann Arbor on Sunday, June 26

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE -- June 6, 2005

On Sunday, June 26 from 4-6pm, two prominent Ann Arbor area environmental organizations will host a first-ever joint fundraiser for Michigan’s environment. The Arbor Brewing Company, 114 E. Washington Street in Ann Arbor is partnering with Clean Water Action and the Ecology Center of Ann Arbor for a special beer-tasting fundraiser.

This will be a great chance for everyone to support the earth while enjoying Arbor Brewing Company’s award winning brews. Those who attend will get to try an assortment of handcrafted ales from ABC and help raise money for the two groups all at the same time.

“We are very excited to work with the Ecology Center on what will be a very fun event. Organizing this event together is symbolic of the collaborative work that is happening within the environmental community across Michigan,” said David Holtz, Clean Water Action’s state director. “It’s also a way to celebrate our one-year anniversary of opening our downtown Ann Arbor office on Main Street.”

All proceeds from the beer tasting fundraiser will be divided between the two groups and will help fund programs to protect the Great Lakes, eliminate toxics in our air and water, and help keep Michigan’s environment healthy and livable.

Tickets are on sale now and are limited.
They cost $35.00 each and can be purchased by sending a check, payable to the Ecology Center:
