TAKE ACTION!

ASK GOVERNOR GRANHOLM AND THE LEAD COMMISSION FOR AN IMMEDIATE BAN ON ALL LEAD IN TOYS!

While 2007 may have been dubbed the "Year of the Recall" by the media, we've actually had more recalls from lead in toys this year than we did by August of 2007. Fortunately, Congress just took a positive first step by passing the Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act of 2008 (view our press release). Unfortunately, the lead restrictions in this Act, while a definite improvement, do not reach the protective levels that pediatricians are calling for and take over three years to be phased in. Michigan's children should not have to wait that long and should have maximum protection from the hazards of lead in toys.

Please take action today by sending an email to Governor Granholm and the state's Lead Commission and asking for an immediate ban on all lead in toys.
