Founded in 1970, the Ecology Center serves one purpose: protecting healthy people and a healthy planet. Remanufactured toner cartridges are produced from recycled empty toner cartridges that are disassembled, inspected, cleaned, reassembled, refilled, and tested for quality assurance to ensure optimal performance.

Proposed procurement goals:

Require 100% of toner cartridges purchased are remanufactured and/or high-yield original equipment manufacturer (OEM) cartridges
Require 100% of toner cartridges meet the Northeast Recycling Council’s model specifications and purchasing guidelines for environmentally preferable purchasing of monochrome toner cartridges
Require all toner cartridges meet SF Approved criteria for toner cartridges
Require disclosure of PFAS in all products considered for purchase: Michigan Executive Directive 2021-8. Reducing State Purchases of Products Containing Intentionally Added PFAS
