Remanufactured toner cartridges are produced from recycled empty toner cartridges that are disassembled, inspected, cleaned, reassembled, refilled, and tested for quality assurance to ensure optimal performance.
Proposed procurement goals:
- Require 100% of toner cartridges purchased are remanufactured and/or high-yield original equipment manufacturer (OEM) cartridges
- Require 100% of toner cartridges meet the Northeast Recycling Council’s model specifications and purchasing guidelines for environmentally preferable purchasing of monochrome toner cartridges
- Require all toner cartridges meet SF Approved criteria for toner cartridges
- Require disclosure of PFAS in all products considered for purchase: Michigan Executive Directive 2021-8. Reducing State Purchases of Products Containing Intentionally Added PFAS
