Lead Impacted Families Together (LIFT)

Lead poisoning is a major issue, especially among children. Old pipes, paint, or contaminated soil can all put families at risk. Lead poisoning is irreversible, but it is also preventable.

In 2021, the Ecology Center hosted an 8-month training program for impacted families over Zoom. Participants received a small stipend and advocacy support, and over the course of the program gained a deeper understanding of lead poisoning and how to work for change in their communities.

Now, we’ve made our Lead Impacted Families Together (LIFT) materials available as a self-guided program that includes training materials and recorded webinars with nurses, lawmakers, health advocates, and impacted families.

From maps to worksheets to lectures, we hope that you’ll use our site to learn more about the dangers of lead and how to advocate for change in your own communities and put an end to lead poisoning.
