Bailey Flannery

Environmental Storyteller Fellowship 2026

Bailey Flannery is an audio journalist and producer specializing in place-based storytelling about local life, history, art, and environmental change. She is the founder, host, and executive producer of the podcasts Detroit River Stories and Getting Medieval Lit, where she reports original stories through community voices and on-the-ground interviews. Her work also includes designing public programming to expand community engagement. Bailey is completing a Ph.D. at the University of Michigan (English Language & Literature), which includes a comparative study of medieval English and contemporary American media representations of climate change.
