Lead poisoning is a major issue, especially among children. Old paint, pipes or contaminated soil can all put families at risk. Lead poisoning is irreversible, but it is also preventable.
In 2025, the Ecology Center hosted an 7-month bi-lingual training program for at-risk and lead-impacted families over Zoom. Participants received a small stipend and advocacy support, and over the course of the program gained a deeper understanding of lead poisoning and how to work for change in their communities.
Now, we’ve made our Lead Impacted Families Together (LIFT MI) materials available. We hope that you’ll use our site to learn more about the dangers of lead and how to advocate for change in your own communities and put an end to lead poisoning.
