Melissa Garcia

Meli X. Garcia has over 15 years of experience working in the Non-Profit sector. She specializes in public health program development, policy design and implementation and most recently in environmental health organizing. 

Meli served as the Director of Clinic Programs for CHASS Center prior to joining the Ecology Center. She also served on the Board for the Ecology Center from 2020-2022. Meli is also an Ecology Center Health Leaders Fellow alumni.  She is a double Aluma from Michigan State University where she obtained her Bachelor of Arts in Health Studies with a Minor in Psychology and Health Studies. In her free time she also serves as a professional mentor through the Wayne State University Professional Mentor Program to help LatinX students pursue a career in Public Health.

Meli is passionate about environmental health organizing! She is passionate about helping to move agendas that serve our most vulnerable  communities and learning how their social determinants of health play a great role in their health.
